01/10/2010 Blog - The Roar Before the 24

The Daytona Test days were challenged with the freezing cold weather condition.  You may think how cold can it get in Daytona Beach Florida? Cold enough to rain sleet and cool the race track temperature to 34 degrees.   It makes it difficult to get the tires hot enough to work on the car set-up, the set-up of our new Texas Heart Institute GT Corvette is a key to having a good car to race.  With Paul Edwards doing most of the set-up, John McCutchen, Scott Russell and myself familiarize ourselves to the car and track. Our racecar is fast and we are all looking forward to being a front runner for the 48th running of the Daytona 24 hour race on January 30th. The past few days played a key role in our team all working together for the first time,  we have new members and responsibility for a twenty-four hour race.  Please follow my blog as I take you on an inside journey of the God Stone Ranch Motorsports team and my experience getting back into the driver’s seat after a long hiatus,” too long”…..
